Buddy, can you spare a Pfennig?

The dollar should be replaced with a global currency, the United Nations has said, proposing the biggest overhaul of the world's monetary system since the Second World War.

And for a global currency, you need global governance – in exactly the same way that for a single European currency you need a single European government. And who will run that "government"? Why, the UN of course.

We have been here before, except that the World Government advocates are coming out of the closet and getting more daring. First it was global warming – where "pollution" knows no boundaries.

A "global" problem requires a global solution, etc, etc ... And now a global currency as the answer to a global financial crisis.

Be it the EU or the UN, the rhetoric is always the same – like peas in a pod, they look the same and think the same, and have the same solution to every problem: more and bigger government.

Hat tip: EU Referendum

Hell, the UN spent a fortune on a truly hideous 3-d paint splatter last year. Twenty three MILLION dollars for 16,000 square foot dome of torn aluminum and paint blops.

There's NO WAY I'll entrust that impotent passel of incompetent assclowns with our money.

Incidentally, I'm sad that I lost the old pfennig I used to carry in my wallet.

UN eh.

You wouldn't want to be standing in one of their food queues or vaccination lines.

Could say more, but you know what's what.

Heads up.

The EU already run Britain. Literally. A large majority of new laws we have now come from Brussels with no chance for our leaders to even discuss them (because they already signed away our sovereignty in earlier 'treaties').

As for America, the UN already claims ownership to certain sites in the name of conservation:

Internationalism isn't a good thing if you ask me.

Who could have predicted it, the UN want more power. Hmm. These are the people trying to ram through global firearms restrictions that would end US firearms freedoms:

Where is the 1997 global gun ban treaty hiding?

Some like Gerald Celente are saying the dollar is inevitably going to collapse because of the massive increases in the money supply caused primarily by the bailout and other deficit spending.

The global currency has been here in some form for 40 years, something called 'Special Drawing Rights' which comes from the IMF. Right now only central banks trade in SDRs. But China in particular want out of the dollar and want SDRs instead:

So the UN may wish to 'never waste a good crisis' such as the collapse of the current world reserve currency, your dollar, to provide their (final) 'solution'.

Steve... Sometimes you create poetry within your comments. Thanks.

Incoming, we both may be standing in them soon.

"So the UN may wish to 'never waste a good crisis' such as the collapse of the current world reserve currency, your dollar, to provide their (final) 'solution'."

An oppressive world government constantly strengthened by crisis. What could be wrong with that?

Right...and the U.N. is such a bastion of capitalism, just like the Chinese. Oh..we...are...so...screwed.

Dave, politely welcome your new masters.

Nickie, How in the hell can you not trust the UN. You know, these people.

PS - I vote we all adopt the Kroner. It's the best damn looking money around.

I have to add that this came about around the same time the US created that fugly 10 dollar bill. The one that looks like it has coffee spilled all over it. Or worse - half stuck in a cow pie.

Good grief, the UN has been trying to do this to us, (the US), an absolute unmitigated disaster. Get the US out of the UN!

We are screwed

Anonymous said...

Kid, I ready to jump onto the Kroner bandwagon, but I should warn you, I'm still on the Mike Curb Congregation bandwagon.

Anonymous said...

I agree, Reb. And get the UN out of the US.

Dad, leave it to you to find consensus.

Kid, I loved the seatbelt sign. That subject always hits a nerve.

The EUropeans must be thrilled that Geitner is so open to their one-currency ideas. And since Obama wants to be king of the universe, it should be a cinch.

LL said...

Obama is in love with the UN. He'd clearly love to sell us out and make us "their bitch" in all respects.

I suggested on my blog that we move the UN to Cuba (worker's paradise) and call it quits.

Not only have they never been taught economics 101, but they've never lived economics 101 ...

Opie... This thing will all end up with George Soros profiting from currency transactions.

Anonymous said...

LL, the UN is the cancer we feed and welcome into our home.

Anonymous said...

Woody, you said it. Obama and his ilk have never succeeded in private enterprise.

The Brits don't use the Euro. They were the only European country that didn't sign up for that because her Majesty could not have her face on the Euro. Although it's still on the Canadian $ and the Australian $, she didn't want to lose her "power" in her own country.

Anonymous said...

Suzy, Sterling is doomed. I'd expect there to be equity between it and the Euro within 2 years, making the task of adopting the Euro more palatable to the British sheeple.

Nickie, Ditto on the seatbelts.

Every time the subject comes up, I get a vision of the dudes in Blazing Saddles being stopped and ticketed for not having seat belts.

Here's a 33 second audio/visual aid.
