Memorial Day

"Let every nation know, whether it wishes us well or ill,
that we shall pay any price, bear any burden, meet any hardship,
support any friend, oppose any foe to assure the survival
and the success of liberty."
John F. Kennedy

They never heard themselves called heroes because death preceded their parades. They were young and frightened, yet now permanently courageous.

A message to the anarchists, bleeding hearts and shit-stirrers who wish to undermine this nation's armed forces and veterans by claiming the 'high ground' of faux concern for their well-being:
Please, on this Memorial Day weekend, shut up. These men and women were braver and bigger than you. Perhaps, for just a moment, you might quietly reflect on the painful realization that Americans took bullets and shrapnel to their flesh to guarantee the possibility of your adolescent selfishness.
Stop using them to pitch your causes.
Honor them by SILENTLY and sincerely thanking them.

The real heroes are all dead.

Sadly, none of the politicians who provoke war these days actually go and PARTICIPATE in the war. (their role back home is far too vital)

Yeah that'll never happen. But your sentiments have not fallen on deaf ears.

Stand for the ideals of Law and Order here in America, that our service men and women are fighting for around the world.

Texas Citizens are Standing With the Citizens of Arizona!

We urge American citizens from all across America to Stand Side By Side With Arizona!

Great post.

The willingness with which our young people are likely to serve in any war, no matter how justified, shall be directly proportional to how they perceive the Veterans of earlier wars were treated and appreciated by their nation.

I apologize for bringing politics into this. I think things would be different if Obama had ever risked his life in combat for this country. Maybe I'm wrong.

Nicky that's a WONDERFUL tribute to our fallen dead! All of them are heroes.
Thank you sir.

BTW, doesn't it seem odd to put Reagan and Obama on the same page without some sort of official disclaimer? :-)

To Leftists and Progressives, freedom just appears. It just is. They write and speak and enact whatever they wish with nary a thought to the way and manner in which they have the ability to do just so. They are horrendously naive and ignorant. But then, we must realize, they lack the capacity for self-examination, introspection, and have not a clue about the actual meaning or the patterns of history.

This is a condition I term "Historical Alzheimers." And Leftists/Progressives suffer from it.

God bless the American Soldier, who is responsible for whatever is left of civilization on the earth.

And God bless America, the last, best hope of the entire planet.
