Mr. Gatling

1 inch Gatling Gun   -  1877

In April 1861, Richard Jordan Gatling watched hundreds of Union soldiers march through Indianapolis, ready to ride the rails to the front. In the opposite direction came a never-ending stream of badly wounded men, to say nothing of those who lost their lives. Gatling set about inventing a 'labor-saving device for warfare' that he hoped would minimize the number of men needed to fight a war, and thus minimize the number of men exposed to its horrors.

Working throughout the summer of 1861, Gatling developed the invention that would carry his name though history: the Gatling gun. The Gatling is the most famous of late 19th century's manual machine guns. In an age of slow-loading rifles, the Gatling offered unprecedented firepower. Even today, a century and a half after its design, the gun retains its iconic status.
Story here.

Richard J. Gatling
1818-1903
From Wikipedia:
Gatling was born in Hertford County, North Carolina in 1818. At the age of 21, Gatling created a screw propeller for steamboats, without realizing that one had been patented just months prior by John Ericsson. While living in North Carolina, he worked in the county clerk’s office, taught school briefly, and became a merchant. At the age of 36, Gatling moved to St. Louis, Missouri where he worked in a dry goods store and invented a rice-sowing machine and a wheat drill (machines to aid in planting rice and wheat, respectively). The introduction of these machines did much to revolutionize the agricultural system in the country. After an attack of smallpox, Gatling became interested in medicine. He graduated in 1850 with an MD. Although he had his MD, he never practiced; he was more interested in a career as an inventor. At the outbreak of the Civil War, Gatling was living in Indianapolis, Indiana. There he devoted himself to the perfection of firearms. In 1861, the same year the war started, he invented the Gatling gun. A year later, he founded the Gatling Gun Company.

Army Misreports Billion$$ In Their Accounts

When the leadership of a nation is corrupt, it affects everything:
Report: U.S. Army Manipulated Its Accounting Entries by Trillions of Dollars

The U.S. Army manipulated its accounting entries by trillions of dollars in an attempt to make its books appear balanced, making it impossible to uncover how the branch spends taxpayer money, according to a government audit.

Reuters reported Friday, citing a June report from the Defense Department’s Inspector General:

The Army made $2.8 trillion in wrongful adjustments to accounting entries in one quarter alone in 2015, and $6.5 trillion for the year. Yet the Army lacked receipts and invoices to support those numbers or simply made them up.

The report concluded that the Army’s 2015 financial statements were “materially misstated” because of the “forced” adjustments, which made its financial statements useless.

[...]The inspector general focused on the Army’s General Fund, the largest of its two primary accounts, that had assets equaling $282.6 billion in 2015, according to Reuters. The report said the Army either lost or did not record required data. Much of the data that was recorded was inaccurate, the inspector general said.

“Where is the money going? Nobody knows,” Franklin Spinney, a retired military analyst for the Pentagon and critic of Defense Department planning, told Reuters.

Liar Hillary Hires Liar Khizr Kahn

I cannot and will not support any effort to denigrate the sacrifice of Captain Humayun Khan. I don't know whether or not the man is a hero (conflicting stories about the circumstances of his death) but he died in service to America and his memory deserves to be honored alongside every American who has made that selfsame sacrifice.

However, the actions of his father, Khizr Kahn, a Pakistani-born lawyer specializing in Sharia Law (which is unconstitutional) is another matter.

Capt. Khan joined the Army on his own volition, not his father's.
Capt. Khan was not drafted.
The actions that lead to Capt. Khan's death were not prompted by his father.

Capt. Khan's sacrifice was his and his alone to make. Mr. Khan can certainly share his grief, but not his son's sacrifice. It would be like taking an income tax credit for a charitable donation that his son made. It's not done, at least not legally nor in good taste.

That being said, there is an enormous political context which overshadows and envelopes the current controversy between Mr. Khan and the Republican Presidential candidate. This is fueled by the Democratic Party for obvious reasons. The Democrats also try to obfuscate the prevalence of Muslim initiation and participation in attacks on the United States as well as every other country on the planet. No continent is secure from Islamic terrorist incursions; no public assemblage is safe from homicidal designs inspired by the rantings of a long dead pederast.

There have been other actions by Muslims serving in America's armed forces that are not worthy of praise. Of course I am referring to despicable cowards who murdered their fellow soldiers. Such names as Hasan Karim Akbar and Nidal Hasan come readily to mind, not to mention the scores of American soldiers murdered by their so-called Muslim allies in Iraq and Afghanistan. These acts are conveniently forgotten by the current administration and the DNC,

Does one honorable death that occurred twelve years ago cancel the thousands of horrific deaths that Islam has celebrated?  Do comments about this single death deserve all this contentious scrutiny?

Only if you're Donald Trump.

UPDATE (h/t iOTW):
The Muslim who attacked Donald Trump, Khizr Muazzam Khan, is a Muslim Brotherhood agent, working to bring Muslims into the United States. After reading what we discovered so far, it becomes obvious that Khan wanted to ‘trump’ Trump’s Muslim immigration. But not so fast. Trump we have your back.

Khizr Muazzam Khan graduated in Punjab University Law College, as the New York Times confirms. and he specialized in International Trade Law in Saudi Arabia. An interest lawyer for Islamic oil companies Khan wrote a paper, called ]Khan currently runs a law firm in New York City called KM Khan Law Office. According to the website, the the law firm specializes in “immigration services.” Most likely Khan was working to bring Muslims into the country.

In Defense of OPEC to defend the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC), an intergovernmental oil company consisting of mainly Islamic countries. Khan is a promoter of Islamic Sharia Law. Khan is also co-founder of the Journal of Contemporary Issues in Muslim Law (Islamic Sharia).

[...]Khan currently runs a law firm in New York City called KM Khan Law Office. According to the website, the the law firm specializes in “immigration services.” Most likely Khan was working to bring Muslims into the country.

[...]It is likely that Khan is a Muslim plant working with the Hillary Clinton campaign, probably for the interest of Muslim oil companies as well as Muslim immigration into the U.S.

Intelius reveals Khizr M. Khan used to work for Hogan, Hartson and Lovells, which has ties to the Clinton Foundation:

Lt. General White Privilege

This happy horseshit will be the end of us. The Army has gone off the deep end. It's like the Crips and Bloods have assumed command of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.
Washington, DC) – Judicial Watch announced today that it obtained documents from the United States Department of the Army revealing that in April 2015, 400 soldiers in the 67th Signal Battalion at Fort Gordon, Georgia, were subjected to a “white privilege” briefing, including a PowerPoint presentation instructing the attendees: “Our society attaches privilege to being white and male and heterosexual …”

The slideshow also informed the soldiers: “Race privilege gives whites little reason to pay a lot of attention to African Americans.” It alleged that there are unspecified “powerful forces everywhere” keeping different kinds of people from being valued, accepted, and appreciated, but “we act as if it doesn’t exist.” This alleged privilege creates a “yawning divide” in income, wealth, and dignity. The material described a mythical African woman who isn’t aware that she’s black until she comes to America, encounters “white racism” and discovers the U.S. is “organized according to race.”
If Gen. Patton were still alive he'd be fixing to ram his ivory gripped .45's up someone's ass. And I don't mean mother-of-pearl grips, that's for pimps.

Now What?

Huge explosions reported at a US Army base in Sagamihara, Japan.
There have been huge explosions at a US army base in Japan.

Helicopters have been spotted circling the area as emergency services rush to the scene in Sagamihara city, south of Tokyo.

The site is near to a US base next to the capital where three deliberate explosions were reported in April, in what police suspect was an act of left-wing Japanese extremists.

The Wall Street Journal reported that a spokesman for police in Kanagawa Prefecture said two steel pipes were found planted in the ground with electric cables in the camp.

Army Wrong

From American Thinker:
Needed warriors are now being purged from the U.S. military. If America went to war right now with China or Russia, we could lose because of these purges. We’re losing top-level warrior-leaders to make the crucial differences in battle. They’re being systematically drummed out as politically incorrect. When the going gets tough, political correctness (PC) is useless. Then the brilliant, wily fighters, the coolest heads, the most courageous warriors, are needed to lead regardless of social views or record.

Today, in large measure, our fighting forces are led by briefcase-carrying busybodies, yes-men more interested in enforcing political beliefs and social change than leading in battle. They care more about their careers than what’s happening to the military and thus the country. Just last week, a new downsizing of the army was announced – without a protest.

Warriors are not prized. They are criticized and ridiculed.

Brig. General Caitlyn Jenner - how does that sound?

They Remember....

One of the best quotes regarding the Obama administration is this, culled from the Daily Timewaster:
...all we have to do is scrape this administration off our shoe in 2016 and return to doing good.
The story here is about the recent reactions of Europeans to the presence of US armed forces. Have a hanky available.

These are pictures of Polish citizens mobbing a US Army unit that transitioned across Poland this week. You'd think it was VE Day in 1945.

Story here and a lot more here.

Sec. of the Army Dickless John McHugh

From the WashTimes:
A group of House lawmakers is moving to strip the armed services’ civilian leaders of the power to revoke combat valor awards in response to Army Secretary John McHugh unilaterally canceling the Silver Star, one of the military’s highest honors, for a former Green Beret officer.

Mr. McHugh took the action against Maj. Mathew Golsteyn, who braved repeated enemy fire in Afghanistan, even though he has not been charged with any offenses. The Army now is seeking to release him with a less-than-honorable discharge. The officer plans to fight the move, his attorney says.

The secretary acted after the CIA informed the Army that Maj. Golsteyn, during a polygraph exam for a job application, told of killing a terrorist who was making improvised explosive devices (IEDs), the weapon that has killed more Americans in Afghanistan than any other. The Army also removed Maj. Golsteyn from the elite ranks of the Green Berets.
You may very well guess what my reaction to this is:

Dickless John McHugh

Every morning at the Pentagon you’ll see him arrive
He stands five foot six and weighs one ninety-five.
Kinda narrow at the shoulder and broad at the hip
And everybody with a medal knows it’ll soon be stripped
By Dickless John

Nobody seemed to know where his dick had gone
But it’s said he lost it when his momma yawned
Her jaws slammed shut like a stainless steel trap
And now he carries his dick in a brown paper sack
Dickless John

Then came the day Maj. Golsteyn won a star
Saved a bunch of soldiers in a battlefield afar
There was a lot of shootin’ and hearts beat fast
Major Golsteyn showed bravery that was unsurpassed
‘Cept to John
Dickless John

Ya see, Major Golsteyn killed a terrorist
But didn’t read him his rights or some other shit
So Dickless John had to make his move
He yanked that medal ’cause he had to prove
He’s Dickless John

If you visit the Pentagon in a year or two
You may hear Dickless John try to misconstrue
Why he yanked that Silver Star from Maj. Golsteyn’s chest
It was because of honor and Dickless John knows best
But if you ask any soldier from Fort Bragg to Seoul
It’s because Dickless John ....... is a fucking asshole.

Dickless John
His dick is gooooone
Dickless John.

Operation Dragoon

I never heard of this second invasion of France.

From the American Spectator:
August 15 marks the 70th anniversary of the Allies’ amphibious invasion of Marseilles and southern France in 1944. Though it stands as a historical footnote to the acclaimed D-Day invasion of Normandy, it played a vital role in the liberation of France and the ultimate defeat of German forces. The operation, codenamed Dragoon, got off to a dreadful start with the suicide of one of the key Allied leaders shortly before the invasion launched.

[...]Operation Dragoon was controversial from the time it was first proposed. The American military leadership and their British counterparts disagreed on the operation. Churchill argued against it on the grounds that it diverted military resources that were better deployed in the on-going Allied operations in Italy; instead, he favored an invasion of the oil-producing regions of the Balkans. Churchill reasoned that by attacking the Balkans, the western Allies could deny Germany oil, forestall the advance of the Red Army of the Soviet Union, and achieve a superior negotiating position in postwar Europe, all at a single stroke.

RIP Gen. Harold Greene

US Army Major General Maj. Gen. Harold Greene was murdered yesterday by an Afghan soldier who allegedly passed a rigorous seven step vetting process. The soldier used a machine gun to kill Gen. Greene and wound fifteen other coalition soldiers.

The assassin was killed by other soldiers.

The Hornet's Nest

There is a movie coming out this Spring about the war in Afghanistan.
There are no actors, only soldiers.
It's the real deal.
