Purges? Or Staying True to Conservative Values.

Don't fall for the hype that conservative wins in tomorrow's elections sound the knell for purges based on conservative "purity". There is still room for differing viewpoints in the conservative movement. We will not all agree about each and every issue that is out there. But you have to be kidding me when a gal like Scozzafava calls herself a Republican while representing unions, card check, failed stimulus and then goes on to endorse the DEMOCRAT candidate! Gimme a BREAK! Now the LIBS are whining that conservatives have begun "Stalinist Purges"???? Excuse me. Stalin did not believe in freedom, capitalism and the American Constitution. These are the candidates we want. The candidates we must INSIST upon! Don't let Gibb's cynical words poison your heart. We are on the right track here. Stay on course.

Pamela Geller at American Thinker wrote:
We all sucked it up. We went along. We embraced the ticket in the spirit of AROO -- (any Republican over Obama) -- and we held our noses until Sarah Palin came along. Ah, just a spoonful of Sarah helped the medicine go down.

But now it's time to clean house. Newt and his ilk will be relegated to the dustbin of history, and deservedly so. Enough with the old, in with the true!

Nothing happens for decades, and then decades happen in a day. So it was with 911, and so it is with Barack Obama in the White House. This terrible compromise between the RINOs and the conservatism is over. In any compromise between individual rights and collectivism, collectivism profits. It's all on the back of the individual. Basta!

The new Republican partiers - Palin, Michelle Bachmann, Allen West - these people are our future. The RINOs belong to the past. It is over for them. It's over for the Newts, for Romneys, the Steeles, the David Keenes, the Norquists, the Lindsey Grahams. Scozzafava's failure was just the beginning. You ain't seen nuthin yet. It is time to kick the RINOs to da curb.

The first traitor to go must be Olympia Snowe.

It's time to take back the Republican Party.

But first we must purge the voter rolls of all the Democrat fraud and skullduggery. Americans deserve clean elections.

It's time to take back America.

Stalinist Purges? So the conservative movement is going to set up sham trials and put some Republican (liberals/moderates) in the prisoner's box? And they'll be put to death? (And many of them will agree with the charges and go to their deaths willingly?) Wow. Stalin's purges did all these things - you'd think, therefore, I would have heard about the American conservative movement organizing a Stalinist Purge of its own.

There is only one thing we want to purge: the Obama adminstration and its destruction to our liberties and freedoms.

That´s the thing, ECI; we don´t understand the vastness of the rightwing conspiracy. We´re just unwitting pawns in this game, too busy clinging to our God and our guns to really grasp what´s happening. Duh.
Jeez. The only signs of intelligence left in the Democratic party are the actual signs they paint proclaiming their intelligence.

My only problem with this "take back the Republican Party" meme is, well, isn´t it like putting new wine in an old wineskin? I just wish there was a way to either escape the off-the-right-side-of-the-boat religious zealot caracature (real or not) the Conservative party has been painted/tainted with, or come up with an actual, honest-to-god new conservative party (differing viewpoints and all, Opie).

If Libs are wetting themselves over ideological shifts, they must be worried about something.

Iggie... The Conservatives may be seeing a future not fully grounded in the Republican Party. If the Republicans want to survive, they'd better see the same thing.

Bill... Keep the focus. We have seen the enemy and he is Chicago.

Mike... I gotta admit that the idea of a Conservative Party gets my leg tingling.

Rhod, the squealing Liberals serve as our canaries.

I can't help but laugh at the fact that the left has gone through a very similar process lately, as there is clearly a leftward shift in the Democratic party over the past few years.

So the right is redefining itself... doing away not with reasonable moderates who will shift right, but with true RINOs and liberals like Dede what's-her-name in New York who might as well be named Alan Grayson she's such a leftist.. and the left wants is trying to make it look bloodletting?

Too funny.

wow, that's some fantastic grammar in that last sentence, eh?

I done myself proud with that there...

Rhod said...

Leftists ought to understand it. It's a dialectic, isn't it? Something old meets something new and a newer something emerges...

It's very Hegelian.

Sol, great last sentence. I hope you didn't pull anything.

Good stuff, Opie. We need to think this through and do it right. I hear a lot of mindless anti-Republicanism that loses sight of the fact that the "real enemy is in Chicago'.

The way of a true third-party movement is likely electoral suicide. Obama and his cronies are on the run. Time to shoot at the opposition.

You principally take the party back during primary season. We were asleep at the switch last time and Demos and the media picked our nominee.

If I get a shot over the next day or so, I want to put up some thoughts on this whole 3rd-party brouhaha and nonsense. What is going on in NY-23 is not a true 3rd-party situation.

Last time we had a true 3rd party, we got and insane candidate (Ross Perot) and a worse result -- 8 years of Clinton. However, those look pretty good right now by comparison, but that's where this stuff goes on a national scale.

But here's something to chew on in the meantime ... If the electorate defines itself as 40% conservative, 27% moderate and 33% liberal, how do conservatives win national elections?

Here is another question ... Name the top 10 conservative politicians in Washington and their party identification.

Bloodletting? Stalnist Purge?

It is merely the Libs squealing like monkeys caught in a Monkey Trap. Again.

But notice the additional language to associate the right with domestic terrorists and murdering madmen. They PLAN to do things that will push the right to 'serious consequences'.

To Think. The Idiot Biden warned us that they would be doing things we all would think is insane.

Kid, LOL at the monkey trap!

DC, I am against 3rd party candidates for national office for the same reason. We can't "Perot" our way to Obama's second term. Eeeeek!

Sol, everybody understand the editing problems that come with the comments system. Why I myself have that there problem too, sometimes....

Opus #6 said...

Nickie, I'm hoping we can change the meaning of the word "Republican". At least into someone who respects and defends the Constitution.

Opus #6 said...

Rhod, I took it as a good sign.

Opus #6 said...

Mike, I have said it and I believe it. If the socialist/communists can take over the Dem party, the Constitutionalists can take over the Republican party. Two can play at that game. A 3rd party spreads us too thin and ensures a loss in the next election. We need to swallow our pride and redefine the meaning of being a Republican. Refound the party back into the party of Ronald Reagan.

Opus #6 said...

Bill, you got that 100% right. We need to purge Obama's nutty schemes.

Opus #6 said...

ECI, you only hear these things on whiney liberal websites.

Soloman said...

Opus, you're too kind.

I didn't have any 'editing problems' due to the comment system! I just flat out mangled the English language for a sentence there!

Give some credit where it's due, will ya?? LOL!

And Nickie.. doc says I'll be fine. Just a strain.

Opus #6 said...

OK, Sol, have it your way. No more Mrs. Nice Guy... ;-)

A third party candidate is usually a spoiler. The Republican party must get back to core conservative principles if they ever want to win again. Hopefully, the elections tomorrow will be a signal to them and that they will take heed. We can only hope.

Amen to what Conservative Lady said. Look at what might happen in Jersey today.

That´s my natural bent too, Opie. My wishful thinking just gets the better of me when I rant.

The answer is clearly three parties. The far left, the far right, and the middle who believe in nothing much other than getting along. We live in a country where our representatives and president are elected by this middle group that waffles back and forth. They do not pay attention to anything between elections so have no knowledge going in and little interest in how things worked out. When elected, the representatives come from either the far left or right because people who get elected have to have a base. Then the dance begins as both of the bases have a certain number of representatives. Some obviously are pure in their beliefs and some on both sides are only with the base on 75% of the issues and most know the absolute hot buttons of their local or state areas and make sure they do not violate those issues. If a liberal state like Maine, the representative will lean left on the hot button issues and beliefs of Maine.
Many believe we need a new conservative party or a new liberal party to purge those who are not pure even as the vote counters see that this makes governance difficult.

The founders knew this would be a problem which is why they selected those who owned property and thus had a stake in the game as those who could vote. Over time, we have proceded to change that to allow as many as possible to vote and to insure that we would end up with an ignorant voting public who would end up deciding elections which always favors the incumbents. Also by having over 45% of those who vote pay no taxes, we insure a voting block that is able to vote themselves more things for free with no consequences. When you get that number over 50%, you move to become a country like that of Hugo Chevez. That is what the left wants and that is what Obama is trying to create. they want to pass so many free things that the new voting majority is now in their control and where they can keep moving them to a pure socialist state. Of course the joke is on these voters for when the money runs out, the freebies will stop and big brother will demand complete control. We saw this in the soviet union and witnessed its final collapse.
