Here's exactly what he said:
“I unequivocally support all gay rights, all gay rights except the right to be married. I’m a Catholic and I believe in Catholic values.” Wow, burn him at the stake.
And this this one re: taking kids to a gay pride parade, like the proud Demo Cuomo was boasting of doing:
“Have you ever been to one? The men wear little Speedos and they grind on each other. Would you take your children there? I don’t think so.” Sounds like how many folks would describe such a spectacle, only Paladino described some of the behavior that might, just might (even in NYC) be inappropriate for children.
When Matt Lauer of the Today Show pressed him, Paladino asked him, "Would you take your child to a gay pride parade?" It was classic. Lauer hemmed and hawed and said, well, probably yes. Score one for Paladino.
I realize that the money issues in this election cycle are, well, money issues. Arguably, Paladino is a bit a a brash talker (read: New Yorker) who has gotten off-message. I understand the point.
But people in N.Y. and elsewhere are pissed. And it's more than just money.
That is, in addition to being broke, our culture is rotting. And a lot of people in New York, and the rest of the country, of course, agree with Paladino. The media squirms and kicks and screams because they are afraid that even in deep-blue NY that their views -- rather than Paladino's -- will be shown to be out of the mainstream.

Bummer. I had actually hoped he had said what he was accused of having said. Still, I was pleased to see a politician (worms as they very much and often are, even the ones I "like"). It is about time people step out of the 'mind control' bubble and just tell the truth. It is time. I am not sure I like Pal. Actually, more the reason to vote for him. Perceptions are often based on presentation, presentation is crafted by the media, like it or not. Hothead? Sure. He can join the ranks there.
I remember suggesting I did not care for racially mixed relationships, or the msm push for it. I remember a strong Democratic aunt looking at me harshly, while thinking. Something... broke in her mind and she said, "You know, neither do I actually." I almost laughed, almost.
I think I’d like to have a beer with you!
I just heard him interviewed this morning where he said that he did not say those things, it was written out as a speech by the group of Rabbi's that he spoke to, and when he saw that he erased those things.
However the press got a hold of the original speech that the Rabbi's had and published that in it's entirety.
Fantastic! This blog was very well put. . Why can only the liberals call names and make up stories but conservatives can not. It’s probably because they haven’t grown up yet and they are still the minions of their professors.
DC, I wish he'd run in California.
Oh, my ... California? Now, that would be a hoot.
Lauer lied. If he was so hot to take his kiddies to a gay pride parade he would have done so already.
Opus #6 - Lauer is a liar.
And moving on, there's NOTHING wrong with not wanting to attend a gay orgy. And if heterosexual people had orgy parades, I don't know that you'd want to take your kids to those either.
The problem with this is that gay males for the most part, revel in throwing it in your face, which is why a lot of heterosexual people don't want to be around them.
Paladino said what we're all thinking and I'm sure it will land him votes. (maybe even Lauer's)
What Opie and LL said ...
If Paladino buggered the Pope in Times Square on a Thursday afternoon I'd still vote for him over that Cuomo slimeball.
Sig, that is an excellent point ... perspective. It's all about the alterative. And Pres. Zero is Exhibit A in that regard.
I still say children are the bastion of innocence; and are the last to waller in the world of permissiveness.
Children just are not capable of such thoughts-until agents of evil plant the thoughts in their sponge like minds.
Why are the liberals so intent on stealing our childrens' innocence?
Rhetorical. No one has to answer.
I went back to western NY this past week, with it's rotting barns and weed choked farms. The ones, like my Dad's, that little Andy's daddy Mario put a fork in with his f*cked up sense of what was right. Which was to bleed upstate white to save NYC from becoming Beirut.
Now Mom does not like Carl, because he is a loudmouth. And she does not understand why he picks on that nice man Sheldon Silver. (Carl IS RIGHT about him needing to be in attica, BTW)
Well Mom, I love you, but the reason I live 8 hours away now is because you just do not get it.
There is no hope for NY state. Ever voter upstate could vote for Carl, but Andy will win in the sewer the Hudson river empties into, and that is that.
Vote with your feet. It is the only thinking man's option.
Toast, thanks for the report on the ground. You are probably right, but a lot of Repubs are making a comeback this year, even in the NE. We'll see.
They Say, they are making post-modernists. Sorry but true.
And in other news ... the pulled a Chilean miner out and send Blanche Lincoln down in his place.
Gay pride? Give me a break.
DC - as long as it was done with respect.
