And not only that; between Loretta Lynch and James Comey the FBI has't had a great track record.

When The Police De-Police

The guys in patrol react in several ways to perceived threats and injustices. One of the favorites was to to stop writing parking tickets which was a major source of revenue for the city. The citizenry was not endangered as the overwhelming majority of illegally parked cars do not represent a threat to public safety. Our commanders might thunder but since everyone was doing it they could not single anyone out for retribution. However what is transpiring now is completely different; it's on a whole new level and it is not going to be quickly addressed.

An unclassified FBI study on last year’s cop-killing spree found officers are “de-policing” amid concerns that anti-police defiance fueled in part by movements like Black Lives Matter has become the “new norm.”

“Departments — and individual officers — have increasingly made the decision to stop engaging in proactive policing,” said the report by the FBI Office of Partner Engagement obtained by The Washington Times.

The report, “Assailant Study — Mindsets and Behaviors,” said that the social-justice movement sparked by the 2014 death of 18-year-old Michael Brown at the hands of an officer in Ferguson, Missouri, “made it socially acceptable to challenge and discredit the actions of law enforcement.”
FBI spokesman Matthew Bertron said the study was written in April.

“Nearly every police official interviewed agreed that for the first time, law enforcement not only felt that their national political leaders [publicly] stood against them, but also that the politicians’ words and actions signified that disrespect to law enforcement was acceptable in the aftermath of the Brown shooting,” the study said.

There are several of my readers who understand completely what is going on. You guys know who you are. This is a major sea change that will drive crime rates up. All crime rates will go up, not just homicides, as police officers take a few steps back.

This is no longer your grandfather's America where a healthy dollop of respect for authority and accountability was infused into young people. That is gone, particularly in minority communities. Generations of haphazard child-rearing have seen to that as fathers fled the families as government moved in. In many minority communities - yes, black neighborhoods - police are mistrusted. Cooperation with authorities is stymied by prideful attitudes like "stitches for snitches" that stop investigations dead in their tracks. People do get away with murder.

Police officers are subject to violence, but that has always been the case. Look at the following chart that depicts police officers killed in the line of duty for the past 51 years. A total of 9,313 officers lost their lives, an average of 183 per year.

Look at the spike in  officer deaths that started with the 1967 race riots. That didn't begin to calm down until the mid 70's. Interestingly, cops started wearing Kevlar vests about that time too. The spike in 2001 is self evident. But there was still a downward trend until the tail end of the chart. The lowest point is 2013 (the lowest number of officer deaths in 50 years), the year before the events in Ferguson.

Of course not all of these officers were murdered.
In the last ten years 1,511 officers were killed. The most common causes of death were:

• 612 (41%) officers were killed in automobile, aircraft and boat accidents
• 553 (37%) officers were murdered
• 270 (18%) officers died from illness - deaths from 9/11 diseases were not listed.

But in the last four years - since the 2014 riots in Ferguson and the subsequent attacks of Obama's Justice Department -  the number of officers murdered (shot, stabbed, beaten and strangled) has almost doubled; a 92% increase from 36 to 69  and the number of officers murdered in the past year (2016 vs 2015) has jumped 57%, from 44 to 69. Only eight of these 201 murders did not involve a firearm; the number of police shot to death since Ferguson has increased 94%.

US Military Command Responsible For Deaths Of US Soldiers?

A retired Air Force Captain relates how she watched US soldiers die as she was denied permission to engage Taliban terrorists.

A decorated retired Air Force officer who witnessed one of the most deadly attacks on Navy SEALs in U.S. history is breaking her silence, saying the government covered up evidence detailing that the 2011 downing of a Chinook helicopter gunship that killed 38 fighters in Afghanistan could have been prevented had it not been for restrictions to the military's rules of engagement that were changed under the Obama administration.

The article lists some of the ROE that get American soldiers killed.

• No night or surprise searches
• Villagers warned prior to searches
• U.S. units on searches
• U.S. soldiers may not fire at the enemy unless the enemy is preparing to fire first
• Afghan National Army or Afghan National Police must accompany
• U.S. forces cannot engage the enemy if civilians are present
• Troops can fire at an insurgent if they catch them placing an IED, but not if they’re walking away from placing an IED.
• Only engage an enemy fighter if you see a weapon, and they’ve fired first

Trump simply has to make this nonsense disappear. Nothing will return these brave men and women to their loved ones; the military's leadership should be held accountable for this.

Apparently Obama has removed many good fighting generals and replaced them with ass kissers. I desperately hope I am wrong on this account as my daughter joined the National Guard's, 20th Group SF and has already been asked if she is willing to be deployed (again).

If The Nation Really Knew...

It can be very frustrating trying to make sense of crime statistics. I have been collecting and analyzing crime data since 1987 when I started GIS-based crime analysis for the Syracuse Police and have only stopped once I retired in 2017 from the DA's Office. Back in the early 90's I assisted a few other police agencies, including the Auckland (New Zealand) Police Department, in bringing their Mapinfo systems on line.

I often thought that the feds went out of their way to obfuscate crime stats, especially those concerning minorities. Seems I was right. And this leads to problems. When Willy Sutton, the famous bank robber, was asked why he robbed banks, allegedly he responded, "Because that's where they keep the money." Cops arrest minorities because that's where much of the crime is.

“The big fallacy of all anti-cop activism is to ignore the fact that policing today is data-driven and police go where people are most being victimized and that is in minority neighborhoods. But the public is, by and large, clueless about how vast the disparities in criminal offending are,” she said. “The federal government could take the lead in educating the public about policing and crime.” 

On immigration issues, the federal government hides data about the scale of guest-worker programs, such as the H-1B program, and it hides data about green card holders, said Steven Camarota, research director at the non-partisan Center for Immigration Studies (CIS). Similarly, the federal government has muddled data regarding repatriations, he said, adding: “This is how the Obama administration made [the number of] deportations look higher.”

Once again history shows that the Obama administration was corrupt and incompetent. What is surprising though, is that the veneer is cracking and falling away so quickly.

I really want former SecState John Kerry to be dragged before a Senate committee to explain how Sarin managed to show up again in Syria after he got rid of it.

Fact-checking website PolitiFact on Wednesday retracted a 2014 article that found it "Mostly True" the Obama administration helped broker a deal that successfully removed "100 percent" of chemical weapons from Syria.

"We struck a deal where we got 100 percent of the chemical weapons out," then-Secretary of State John Kerry said on NBC's "Meet the Press" in July 2014. Kerry was referring to a deal the U.S. and Russia struck in September 2013 in which the Russians agreed to help confiscate and then destroy Syria's entire chemical weapons stockpile.

Make Our Navy Great Again

President-elect Trump has a full plate in front of him. Everything in this country has turned to shit under the stewardship of the cartoonish Kenyan Avenger. And that includes our Navy, once the most vaunted fighting fleet in the world.

The Navy's littoral combat ship is costing taxpayers billions more than budgeted, failing survivability assessments, and may never live up to the original vision for the program, a panel of Navy and government oversight officials told the Senate Armed Services Committee on Thursday.

USS Independence and USS Coronado

The hearing, which focused on continued testing and acquisition of the small surface vessels, came at the close of a 12-month period in which five of the eight littoral combat ships in service have suffered major mechanical and engineering casualties. Navy officials have ordered dramatic program overhauls and reviews of ship employment and training in response to the breakdowns.

Not only are these almost half a billion dollar tuna boats broken, they are not expected to survive in a hostile war environment. Shock tests on the USS Milwaukee had to be canceled this past summer as it was feared that further testing would severely damage the ship. And these tests were well below expected combat conditions.

Davy Jones is rattling around in his coffin at the Naval Academy, just achin' to plant his bony foot up some admiral's ass. This is a disgrace.

Russian Navy Celebrates New Ships, US Navy Celebrates Sodomites

Russia is quietly rebuilding its navy. Evidences are their new nuclear subs and other surface vessels that are being built or have already become operational, like this submarine:

The Russian Navy’s first Project-885 Yasen-class nuclear-powered guided-missile submarine, K-329 Severodvinsk, is set to deploy on its first combat training mission.

The new submarine recently completed operational testing after being accepted into service in June 2014. Prior to that, the boat had been undergoing pre-delivery sea trials since September 2011.

[...]Severodvinsk and her more advanced Project-885M sister ships are capable vessels. “We’ll be facing tough potential opponents. One only has to look at the Severodvinsk, Russia’s version of a [nuclear guided missile submarine] (SSGN). I am so impressed with this ship that I had Carderock build a model from unclassified data.” Rear Adm. Dave Johnson, Naval Sea Systems Command’s (NAVSEA) program executive officer (PEO) submarines said during the 2014 Naval Submarine League’s symposium in Falls Church, Va. “The rest of the world’s undersea capability never stands still.”

The Russians are also introducing a new frigate into their naval forces.

The first in a new class of Russian guided missile frigate arrived on Thursday to Sevastopol marking the first time the Black Sea Fleet has seen a new blue water warship since the end of the Cold War.

The Project 11356-class Admiral Grigorovich arrived in Crimea, the first of several new surface ships the Russian Navy intends to base in the Black Sea.

“This is the first vessel for distant water operation, which the Black Sea Fleet has received over the past 35 years,” fleet spokesman Vyacheslav Trukhachyov told the TASS news service.

The 4,000-ton frigate delivered to the Russian Navy in March and is the first of a planned class of six based in the Black Sea.

Of course the US has built the incredibly expensive (over $3b each) Zumwalt class destroyer (seriously, we used to build aircraft carriers for less), which is of yet an unproven design, but two new LCS littoral combat ships, the USS Milwaukee and the USS Fort Worth, both suffered mechanical failures and had to be towed for repairs.

But never fear, the Navy has decided that in this time of world unease the best way to prepare our warriors for battle is to name ships after sodomites. The USS Harvey Milk is a vessel planned for construction that will be named after a man who was sodomizing minors and shot to death. (H/T iOTW)

This is our new navy that sends sailors "poorly led and unprepared" into dangerous waters on ships that may or may not be combat capable. God help us.

Coming To America And Why I Carry

Trump is right, halt all Islamic immigration into the U.S. until they sort themselves out - which they haven't been able to do in 1400 years. If they're not killing nonbelievers, they're killing each other.

This morning a Catholic priest was beheaded by Muslims in Normandy, France.

An 86-year-old priest has been 'beheaded' by two ISIS knifemen who cut his throat after bursting into a French church and taking nuns and worshippers hostage before being shot dead by police.

Five people including the priest, two nuns and two parishioners were held by assailants who raided the church in Saint-Etienne-du-Rouvray near Rouen in Normandy at 9am.

The clergyman, named as Jacques Hamel, is believed to have been beheaded during the attack while another hostage is fighting for life in hospital.

The two attackers were 'neutralised' by marksmen as they emerged from the building, which is now being searched for explosives. French president Francois Hollande said the men 'claimed to be from' ISIS.

There were reports the attackers shouted 'Daesh' – an alternative name for ISIS often used by the French government – as they ran into the church while at least one of the men was dressed in Islamic clothing.

It comes as it emerged that the building was one of a number of Catholic churches on a terrorist 'hit list' found on a suspected ISIS extremist last April.

It's only a matter of time before we see these bloody-minded savages perform the same deeds in our schools, churches, cities, towns and villages. They will attack the most vulnerable segments of our population and yet the Obama administration is letting thousands of possible terrorists into the country. This is one of the reasons I always carry when I attend a religious service. Hell, I always leave the house armed.

The primary reason for the existence of government is to promote a peaceful coexistence with other citizens and to protect us from foreign incursions. Our government and the governments of Europe have turned their backs on this responsibility. The 2nd Amendment enables us to do what the government now refuses to do.

Ass, Flashlight, Hot Poker ... Assembly required

The FBI has become so politicized it can't find its own ass in the dark with a flashlight and a hot poker.

They're still trying to find another motive for the Orlando Pulse slaughter.

The autopsy of the gunman who massacred 49 people in a Florida nightclub attack last month revealed he was HIV-negative and likely a long-term user of steroids, two U.S. law enforcement officials said.

The revelation comes as FBI agents continue to scour the background of Omar Mateen for clues as to why he launched his June 12 rampage at Orlando’s Pulse nightclub, the deadliest mass shooting in U.S. history.

The 29-year-old had became radicalized in recent years, FBI officials have said, and pledged allegiance to Islamic State militants during his attack.

Federal investigators are not sure if steroids played a role in the shooting. A medical examiner found evidence of physical changes to Mateen’s body that were consistent with long-term steroid use, the officials said, and is seeking to confirm that assessment through further testing.

Sounds like the FBI is trying to hang the Schwarzenegger defense on Omar. They might be creating a public service advertisement warning people that, "This is your brain, this is your brain on steroids murdering scores of people and screaming Allah Akbar."

Allah forbid that the Religion of Piece be found at fault. The FBI investigated this mook for nearly a year and diddin doo nuffin.

In interviews with The Times, senior FBI officials provided new details of their early focus on Mateen and some of the lessons they have drawn as the FBI assesses and tracks more than 1,000 suspected extremists across the country.

The 10-month probe remains one of the enduring and frustrating mysteries of Mateen’s deadly rampage at the Pulse nightclub.

The day after the attack, FBI Director James B. Comey broadly outlined the 2013-2014 investigation to reporters. He staunchly defended the bureau, saying he didn’t “see anything in reviewing our work that our agents should have done differently.” [emphasis mine~sig94]

[...]The senior FBI official said agents could have been more aggressive in accessing Mateen’s social media accounts, including Facebook. But the official noted that in 2013 such checks of online posts were not yet routine or “part of our investigative DNA.”

Someone better send Comey a map so he can find his ass.

Fast And Furious In France

One of the guns used in the Paris, France, slaughter last year was purchased  from an Arizona gun shop and may have been one of the weapons that was allowed to slide through "Fast and Furious" - the ATF debacle.

One of the guns used in the November 13, 2015 Paris terrorist attacks came from Phoenix, Arizona where the Obama administration allowed criminals to buy thousands of weapons illegally in a deadly and futile “gun-walking” operation known as “Fast and Furious.”

A Report of Investigation (ROI) filed by a case agent in the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco Firearms and Explosives (ATF) tracked the gun used in the Paris attacks to a Phoenix gun owner who sold it illegally, “off book,” Judicial Watch’s law enforcement sources confirm. Federal agents tracing the firearm also found the Phoenix gun owner to be in possession of an unregistered fully automatic weapon, according to law enforcement officials with firsthand knowledge of the investigation.

The investigative follow up of the Paris weapon consisted of tracking a paper trail using a 4473 form, which documents a gun’s ownership history by, among other things, using serial numbers. The Phoenix gun owner that the weapon was traced back to was found to have at least two federal firearms violations—for selling one weapon illegally and possessing an unregistered automatic—but no enforcement or prosecutorial action was taken against the individual. Instead, ATF leaders went out of their way to keep the information under the radar and ensure that the gun owner’s identity was “kept quiet,” according to law enforcement sources involved with the case. “Agents were told, in the process of taking the fully auto, not to anger the seller to prevent him from going public,” a veteran law enforcement official told Judicial Watch.

Orlando Killer Worked For Company Transporting Illegal Immigrants

In a surprising discovery, the Palm Beach Post first reported that according to state records, Orlando shooter Omar Mateen - who as we reported earlier was licensed as a security guard and also holds a firearms license - was employed by the US subsidiary of G4S plc, a British multinational security services company, whose US-headquarters are located in Jupiter, Fla, and which also happens to be the world's largest security company by revenue.

How Did Orlando Killer Pass DHS Background Checks?

The security company that employed Orlando nightclub shooter Omar Mateen also is a federal contractor for the Homeland Security and State departments -- raising more questions about how he passed background checks despite being on the FBI’s radar screen and the level of security at a firm handling sensitive U.S. operations.

In 2011 Clinton's State Department Shut Down Investigation of Orlando Killer's Mosque

The Fort Pierce Islamic Center, where Mateen worshipped several times a week, was under investigation by both the FBI and DHS as early as 2011 for ties to a worldwide Islamic movement known as Tablighi Jamaal which was linked to several terrorist organizations.

But the investigation was shut down under pressure from the Clinton-ran State Dept. and DHS’s Civil Rights and Civil Liberties Office out of fear of offending Muslims, according to recently retired DHS agent Philip Haney.

Narco Mule Escapes From DHS

The worst part about this story: a narcotics mule transporting sixty pounds of cocaine was in the custody of Homeland Security and got away, no problem. That much cocaine is probably worth about  - well, last summer an off duty Florida cop found fifty pounds of cocaine floating in the Atlantic while fishing; it had a street value of $10 million. Figure about $12 million for sixty.

Investigators are looking for a flight attendant who bolted from Los Angeles International Airport as her carry-on bags — which were loaded with drugs — were about to be inspected, authorities told NBC News.

[...]The woman, who was not identified, appeared nervous and made a cellphone call in a language not recognized by officers, authorities told NBC News. She was then taken aside to a secondary screening area and asked for her employee identification.

Suddenly, she bolted from the screening location, running with her bags toward an escalator, authorities said. She jettisoned the luggage and her designer shoes and fled the terminal.

It amazes me... someone had the goods on this mule and alerted DHS senseless clods who let her get away. I'm sure they'll call DHS again with another hot tip real soon.

Seriously, what kind of planning and preparation (don't even mention SOP and common sense) went into this? No one could catch her in a high risk facility filled with security?  LAX is not a small place; it's not like she scooted through a screen door thirty feet away and into a waiting cab. Did they stop to retrieve her expensive shoes?

And these are the people protecting us from terrorists...

They should all be retrieving shopping carts for Walmart. At least the carts are slow enough and dumb enough for DHS idiots to round them up without too much of a struggle.

The Deep State

This essay, "Anatomy of the Deep State," was written almost two years ago but it is still a very interesting read. The Deep State is defined as follows:

In British author John le Carré’s latest novel, A Delicate Truth, a character describes the Deep State as “… the ever-expanding circle of non-governmental insiders from banking, industry and commerce who were cleared for highly classified information denied to large swathes of Whitehall and Westminster.”

In America the essay posits that the Deep State exists outside the normal channels of government but pervades it and exerts influence over key members. It is a vast network of financial, military and industrial operators - the puppet masters if you will - that preserves a political circus side show for the public/electorate but plots the course of our nation for their own purposes.

There is the visible government situated around the Mall in Washington, and then there is another, more shadowy, more indefinable government that is not explained in Civics 101 or observable to tourists at the White House or the Capitol. The former is traditional Washington partisan politics: the tip of the iceberg that a public watching C-SPAN sees daily and which is theoretically controllable via elections. The subsurface part of the iceberg I shall call the Deep State, which operates according to its own compass heading regardless of who is formally in power.

[...]Yes, there is another government concealed behind the one that is visible at either end of Pennsylvania Avenue, a hybrid entity of public and private institutions ruling the country according to consistent patterns in season and out, connected to, but only intermittently controlled by, the visible state whose leaders we choose. My analysis of this phenomenon is not an exposé of a secret, conspiratorial cabal; the state within a state is hiding mostly in plain sight, and its operators mainly act in the light of day. Nor can this other government be accurately termed an “establishment.” All complex societies have an establishment, a social network committed to its own enrichment and perpetuation. In terms of its scope, financial resources and sheer global reach, the American hybrid state, the Deep State, is in a class by itself. That said, it is neither omniscient nor invincible. The institution is not so much sinister (although it has highly sinister aspects) as it is relentlessly well entrenched. Far from being invincible, its failures, such as those in Iraq, Afghanistan and Libya, are routine enough that it is only the Deep State’s protectiveness towards its higher-ranking personnel that allows them to escape the consequences of their frequent ineptitude.

How did I come to write an analysis of the Deep State, and why am I equipped to write it? As a congressional staff member for 28 years specializing in national security and possessing a top secret security clearance, I was at least on the fringes of the world I am describing, if neither totally in it by virtue of full membership nor of it by psychological disposition. But, like virtually every employed person, I became, to some extent, assimilated into the culture of the institution I worked for, and only by slow degrees, starting before the invasion of Iraq, did I begin fundamentally to question the reasons of state that motivate the people who are, to quote George W. Bush, “the deciders.”

I don't agree with all of this essay, certainly not the voter identification laws that are pending in several states, and the issue of Congressional deadlock; as a NY judge wrote in an 1866 court opinion, "No man’s life, liberty, or property are safe while the Legislature is in session."

Our Border With Mexico Is Like A Wound Without A Scab

Approximately 25% of all federal prison inmates (about 54,000 in 2010) are aliens and 68% of them are from Mexico. From 2003 through 2009, the number of aliens in state and local prisons increased by about 10,000 per year, from 220,000 to almost 296,000.

Based on our random sample of 1,000 criminal aliens, we estimate that our study population of about 249,000 criminal aliens were arrested about 1.7 million times, averaging about 7 arrests per criminal alien, slightly lower than the 8 arrests per criminal alien we reported in 2005.23 They were arrested for a total of about 2.9 million offenses, averaging about 12 offenses per criminal alien, slightly lower than the 13 offenses per criminal alien we reported in 2005.24

The cost of maintaining these criminals is astronomical.

The estimated annual cost to incarcerate criminal aliens in BOP facilities plus SCAAP reimbursements ranged from about $1.5 billion in fiscal year 2005 to $1.6 billion in fiscal year 2009, as shown in figure 17. About 77 percent of these costs were associated with incarcerating criminal aliens in BOP facilities. In 2005, we estimated that the costs to incarcerate criminal aliens in BOP facilities along with SCAAP reimbursements ranged from about $1.5 billion in fiscal year 2001 to about $1.4 billion in fiscal year 2004.34 For data in fiscal year 2010 dollars, see appendix II. The cost to incarcerate criminal aliens in BOP facilities increased by about 15 percent from about $1.1 billion in fiscal year 2005 to about $1.3 billion in fiscal year 2009 due to increases in both the criminal alien population incarcerated and costs to incarcerate inmates in BOP facilities. SCAAP reimbursements to states and localities increased by about 5 percent from fiscal years 2005 to 2008.

Throw another $323 million in costs incurred by local and states on top of the $1.632 billion for federal criminal aliens and it cost about $2 billion in 2009 to house these morons.
